Remove the 3x 15mm bolts securing the base of the mount to the transmission, and remove the base(you may have to lower the transmission slightly while on the jack to gain better access to remove the forward most bolt) NOTE: the engine may shift while removing this bolt, be sure the jack is supporting the transmission. Next remove the 18mm bolt securing the transmission mount together, and remove the top of the mount. Remove the 4x 15mm nuts securing the top of the mount and battery support to the frame, and remove the battery support. Remove the connector from the battery support by sliding it forward off the clip, and un-secure the wire clip from the battery support. Now we have access to the factory transmission mount assembly. Remove the battery box from the vehicle(3x 10mm bolts) While pushing the front cover down, remove the battery. Remove the tie-down(10mm deep socket), and slide the front cover upward to un-attach it from the box. Loosen the hose clamp on the J-boot(8mm), and remove the J-boot from the upper intake tube. Remove the air box assembly by pulling upward with slight force, be cautious of surrounding components and tubing. For the stock intake, begin with un-clipping the MAF sensor connector, from the sensor and remove the wire stay from the air box.
Next is to remove the intake, if you have an aftermarket intake, refer to the manufacture's install and removal procedure.
Remove the battery cover and disconnect the battery terminal connections(10mm). LIGHTLY support the weight of the transmission with the jack. And position a jack with a soft pad or block off wood under this lip on the transmission. Remove the 8 x T30 screws attaching the undertray, and remove the undertray. Remove the 3 x T30 screws attaching the front air deflector. (CAUTION: allow the vehicle to cool down fully before attempting any work)īegin by properly supporting the vehicle in the air using stands, ramps, or a lift. Now the mount is partially assembled and able to go into your Focus ST. Be sure to put the bolts in the end shown(makes mounting the base to the transmission easier) Ensure the bushing carrier is flat in the base, pressed all the way down and not at an angle, and tighten the bolts/nuts to 45ft/lbs. Take the supplied 15mm bolts and nuts, and secure the base to the carrier. Clearances are tight, so gently press the carrier into the base by using a soft clean surface, till the holes line up on both sides for the bolts to go through: Socket wrench or breaker bar, 3/8" and/or 1/4"īegin by partially assembling the Damond Motorsports TMM first.Īssemble the bushing carrier into the base of the mount, with the extended machined lip of the carrier facing the flat side of the TMM base. Safe means of lifting and supporting the vehicle: jack and jack stands, wheel ramps, or lift.
